QA vs QM is too broad a question. Have you tried google? Please state your misunderstandings in specific, that way it could be better answered – Aruna Aug 7 '11 at 19:24

It's difficult to tell what is being asked here. This question is ambiguous, vague, incomplete, overly broad, or rhetorical and cannot be reasonably answered in its current form. For help clarifying this question so that it can be reopened, see the FAQ.

Quality assurance is a process for ensuring the quality of a product or service. According to ISO's quality management website, quality management is what the organization does "to fulfil the customer's quality requirements, and applicable regulatory requirements, while aiming to enhance customer satisfaction, and achieve continual improvement of its performance in pursuit of these objectives". My understanding of quality management is that it is substantially about knowing and understanding all of your business processes.
