These days I am in strange situation to make decision about career changing. I need help from your side.

Here is the detail of my career. I am working as a junior SQA engineer since 2 years. But still I don’t know much about it like testing tools, language and procedure of SQA. So I seriously wonder about my career.

Secondly in the future I would like to go to the US. And I don’t know what is the scope of sqa and what is an average pay rate for sqa engineer in the USA.

Now I have opportunity to join dev team in the same company.

Should I join it or continue in SQA team? I cannot decide it yet. How can I realize my self that where should I go?

There's a number of questions in your post, some more explicit: 1) scope of SQA, 2) salary for SQA in US, and some more implicit: 3) what's your motivations for testing position, 4) what's your criteria for career path: money? prestige? team-mates? self-development, etc. I don't know what is the right path for you, but this site and programmers.stackexchange.com are full similar questions and useful answers. One thing is clear for me: not knowing only what is SQA would not be a reason to move to development. It would be rather a reason to find an answer first :-) – dzieciou Feb 9 at 21:45

There are no short answers to your question. Re: 1) Read questions on this site. You will learn what people in SQA are tasked with. Re: 2) Google "tester us salary" gives lots of responses. – dzieciou Feb 12 at 22:42
