comment What are the best practices for Integration Testing of a middle-ware?
This system sounds quite broad much like the question itself. Do you have a specific question about testing it or challenges with testing it? What have you tried? There is no way anyone could answer it in its current context.

comment Is it effective to have the tester of the software also be the business analyst?
Yes it can work, but in your situation it sounds like it doesn't. I don't think you would be asking this question if you felt it works. Maybe a better question would be how do I get more testing resources on an understaffed team. Just my feeling from what you have written.

+1 for testing your code and making unnecessary Hitchhiker references. Always keep a towel at your desk.

comment How to test the test scripts?
To clarify: are you talking about making a test fail gracefully (as in the test finds a problem and needs to fail)? Or the testing a test user246 described?

+1 for expanding awards... otherwise I'm unsure how you would keep a large group motivated if you ran these on a regular basis.

comment Test Strategy Documentation
+1 for the blog post. I switched to mind mapping for large agile projects as well and I'm pleased with the results. Much easier for others to read. Xmind is great b/c its easy to use, great looking, and free.

Thanks for all the responses. I know there really wasn't a clear answer, everyone has given me good ideas to consider when creating a standard.
