I am avid Software Tester and have been working on Selenium from past couple of years. I have largely worked with java client driver of Selenium and have started dabbling in to Selenium 2.0 of late. I am also co-author of official Selenium Doc at Selenium Head Quarter which maintains selenium. Besides Selenium, I work on Manual Testing, Performance Testing and automated Accessibility Testing. Of late I have been conducting free on line selenium training. You could find more on this on my site

Does driver.findElement(By.xpath("//ul[2]/li[2]/a/div")).click(); bring up new element <css selector> without loading the page?

Knowing Selenium will not get you any knowledge on QTP. Both tools are poles apart. Though knowing automation may help you in learning any tool quick.

Also keep in mind that any additional overhead can affect your ability to create load this is what I have been trying to work around. Take all set up out of tests. Especially when using Junit Sampler of JMeter as the response time it is going to report should be the time required to carry out the transaction and not the time needed to execute the test method.

comment Should tester fix bugs?
@JoeStrazzere I guess dev verifies it and then some other test engineer reverifies it and then if there is another bug (missed by dev verification) then tester who fixed it earlier fixes it again then again dev verifies it and cycle continues :)
