Is mail testing with selenium possible? Yes, you can keep a simple 'test_mails' table in your database with fields like to, from, body, headers etc. etc. and implement a custom assert function then. Of course, this is limited till your application is in test mode. If you're planning to verify this function in production mode, you'll need some other type of setup. |

Is there a successful approach to automating security testing? No, I think - because depreciation of quality can be because of not one or two reasons but infinite reasons. I'd like to add though that trivial things like checking for SQL injections etc. can be automated but again the ROI of such an automation has not appealed to me yet because of past experiences. |
