Has automated UI regression testing helped you in finding critical defects in system? Automated tests can only do, what you program them to do. Unless you develop an AI. Prove your statement and i shall give you right. |

Handling self-refreshing pages from selenium @Lyndon: Thanks man. :) @Matt: This actually waits for EVERY jQuery request to finish. It waits until everything jQuery does on your page is done, even for a microsecond. If jQuery get's in the state: active=0 your program will continue. This of course is only valid for jQuery, but you can edit this to represent whatever tool you are using. Btw if you are not using jQuery, shame on you you should. :D |

Capturing screen shots in selenium tests To easy of a question. We are trying to build a site here where you ask very difficult questions. This question would have been answered if you would googled it. Or read a selenium forum. Or searched the selenium mail list. |

How do I resolve a “Lock file still present” error? You could try this one: download.chip.eu/hu/Unlocker-1.8.7_145537.html Worked for me like a charm... |

Has automated UI regression testing helped you in finding critical defects in system? Yeah since the question was about GUI perf tests aren't regarded in my answer. Also, in pont of NEW i meant to say that if you have a set of Tests that search ONE part of a product then the bugs that it find will always be from that part. But never from somewhere else. I don't know if that's clear enough. :) |

Should QA be able to code tests? I would disagree. Did you heard of exploratory testing? Talk with James Bach about it, he will tell you how it works. :) Also... Performance testing is not realy and area for a Manual Tester. That's why i said, it depends on what kind of people you hire. |
