testing Touchscreen driver Sorry, but not on this case... You can't really do a few hours stability test manually. Putting costs aside the straight forward solution is using a "robot" similar to an old pen plotter, but this is expensive and requires someone to program it. |

How should you interview for QA Automation positions? Interviewing for a wider set of skills is a challeange |

MTBF for a software product Ah ah... that's the problem. We got a request from a client to supply MTBF numbers, the request went through our long chain of command and was broken to pieces (many teams, each gives their number) so asking back what did they mean is useless. I also know that it's not uncommon for marketing people not to know what they are asking for... |

what should I do if my stability tests cycle is longer than the release cycle ? We can't do concurrent testing due to limited resources (isn't it always ?) of all kinds- testers, device, test equipment. The cycle can't be shortened much without loosing its significancy, it consists of several common use cases, each taking a day to complete. The problem is not efficiency. |

MTBF for a software product Wikipedia was the first place I read. Although their definition is probably correct it has holes in it- - Do I calculate up time on a single version or since the beginning of time? - Is number of failures equals number of bugs or should take into consideration the expected frequency of the bug ? - What if my up time is a collection of short runs ? |
