comment How credible are WebDriver tests?
Yep, it was pretty much like what you described. Automated tests where clicking the Submit button, why real users were pressing Enter to submit a form. Both events were handled differently by the page. So we actually haven't reproduced precisely same scenario users performed. Nothing particular about WebDriver.

comment Testing ExtJS UI with WebDriver
So I guess there's no open source framework for ExtJS testing and I need to write my own, e.g., using your approach. Right?

Is it just me that found JMeter API (not UI) quite old-school, without using generics, modern collections and thus of low usability? I guess not as I've seen some solutions that wrap JMeter with another Java DSL just to make JMeter more usable.

comment Feature toggle on production
What do you mean by "Your developer should be simultaneously getting code reviews to ensure the feature doesn’t reach further across the full product code in any unexpected ways"? Do you mean that we should check also that there are no dependencies in the code between used features and feature toggled off?

I mark it as an answer because it sees also the risk in removing the code. And that's what actually sometimes happens: when developers remove too much! ;-)

I agree with ernie, I always understood A/B testing as a methodology in usability testing for the users to choose the solution users value more, not to release both versions A and B, where B is less tested.

comment How do you stress test a video streaming app?
Google with "http live streaming benchmark" returned a few interesting results like "Live video streaming: performance benchmark", "Methodologies for Generating HTTP Streaming Video Workloads to Evaluate Web Server Performance". Do they answer your question?

comment Performance tool for scripting HTTP requests dynamically
I guess, using Apache low-level HTTP client does not bring much overhead to the overall results of the test. Have you compared what would happen if instead you were using some higher abstraction like RESTAssured or Retrofit?

comment Which skills are required for a tester with only one year of experience
Required by who or what? Without that information the question is too broad.

comment How to test database as a manual tester?
It really depends what application you're testing and what things you want to verify. You will expect different checks for simple store/read application, different when testing data migration or verifying differences between prod and staging DBs.

But how do you make sure that if you disable the feature, whole code related to it is really disabled and will never be reached through some other endpoint?
