comment Where can I find good JMeter tutorials?
There is also a decent book on Packt here: packtpub.com/beginning-apache-jmeter/book if you'd like to add it to your already awesome list.

Wow. Very strange, but your fix was all I could think of as well for a work around.

I haven't run into this, but is it possible that each test result returned counts as a 'complete' message from stdout? So Jenkins would stop once the first result is returned because it thinks it has received the 'all clear' (shell returns a "0" all clear)?

comment Open source web security testing tools
The OWASP group is a great source of info. ZAP and the WebGoat project can teach you a LOT. Webgoat is even guided, almost like taking a class. Once you feel comfortable with those concepts, download and explore some of the pre-packaged distros for this like BackTrack or SamuraiWTF. Then set up a VM and see what you can do!

comment Is there load/stress testing software that can be used for Ajax calls?
Like Sam and user246 said, the best strategy to use for this is to monitor traffic and capture those requests to create an AJAX request profile. Then take that profile and use another tool to create the load based on it.

comment Are Selenium functional tests reliable enough to be worthwhile?
Awesome additions Sam. Several times I've seen (and been guilty of) assuming a failure was a flaky test case when it was in fact a bug in the product code.

comment Testing IE 7, 8, 9. Is the IE9 compatability mode sufficient?
I've never had a good experience with those collections. They always seem brittle, and I would wind up cross-referencing them against an actual full install anyway. I just stopped using them and learned to maintain VM images.

Pretty much this. There are definite differences in how things will be rendered. It's up to your individual level of risk assessment as to whether it's "good enough" to rely upon.

comment Is there a PC or MAC laptop built for QA work?
This is my favored setup as well, though replace Parallels with VirtualBox and the Air with the full size model. Max out the RAM and slap in an SSD. I chose VirtualBox mostly due to easy of imaging/backup/replication of many different types of VMs and consistent support for new versions of Linux. Being able to destroy a machine and recreate it in minutes is pretty handy. Plus, after spending the cash on that MacBook, the low price of free for VirtualBox looks pretty nice!

comment Selenium RC is out dated or still in the market after selenium 2.5 release?
RC is still used "out there" and could still be pertinent. But what may be more helpful than a deep dive into RC is conversion from RC to Webdriver.

comment How in depth does a test plan have to be in agile environment?
This pretty much nails it. There are tons of possibilities for what may or may not require a plan. If you need to document part (or all) of your tests, a plan great place to keep it. This way it can be easily passed around the team to add scenarios/stories to it.

This is definitely what they're looking for. I have yet to find a better intro/tutorial to writing to Webdriver/SE with Ruby. Great recommendation.
