I also found that removing JAVA_TOOL_OPTIONS works. Essentially I found this forum post [link](tinyurl.com/c2wraj7 which ) instructing the removal of the following: _JAVA_OPTIONS, JAVA_TOOL_OPTIONS, and IBM_JAVA_OPTIONS This solution worked.

As an addition to the comment from @MalRoss, would the auditor be satisfied with running a set of benchmark scripts i.e. you know the outcome of each script after interrogating the data, therefore proving that a test that should fail in your software will fail and one that should pass will pass?
