comment is it appropriate to do exception handling for every single test method?
I think that's true to the same extent that it's true to programming in general (i.e. beyond writing tests).

comment Capture screen during exploratory testing
I plan to use CamStudio for usability testing. Works fine on a recently-purchased Windows 7 laptop.

comment What are guidelines to use for exit criteria when releasing?
Bruce, it's a good question but I recommend amending it to describe the project size as in the above comment. Of course there are many projects that are smaller than that. (My company: 3 developers, 8-12 weeks to develop.)

+1 for this comment, but you should add that if there's a test escape, Bruce should be fired.

comment Who is ultimately responsible for issues that are found after software is released?
Upvoting. It is at least fruitless and possibly destructive to assign blame to an individual. Moreoever, no non-trivial software is perfect. Fix the bug, and then if you want to assign blame, take a look at your processes and ask whether they need to change.

comment Are state transition diagrams a good software testing technique
Agree with TristaanOgre -- I think there are one or more worthwhile questions here but the current wording is confusing.

comment How do you design your test method/function
@marc Selenium does not dictate what happens when an assertion fails; that is up to the framework. You if you use Selenium with JUnit, you will get the semantics you described. Of course you don't have to use JUnit in order to use Selenium.

comment What types of testing are LEAST suited to using pairwise testing (and similar test design approaches)?
Upvoting this comment. For those who are interested, Dr. Atif Memon at the University of Maryland and his collaborators have published some papers about the application of combinatorial testing to user interfaces. They talk about the issue the commenter described in the third paragraph.

Thanks; I updated my comment accordingly.
