Web application GUI automation best practices @PhilKirkham Automating at the GUI level can have benefits, particularly in regression testing or acceptance testing. I wouldn't say to do no automated GUI testing. |

Outlook Mail testing Definitely go with C# or other .NET tools with Outlook. In my experience with SilkTest and Outlook, Outlook does not play well at all with third-party automation tools. |

What Are Some Examples of Why Explicit Sleep Statements Are Bad +1 This is the kind of answer I'm looking for. I've mostly tested only desktop applications without much concern for networking aspects, so this helps me picture what can got wrong. |

Testing random number generation The Beautiful Testing chapter is actually really good, since it talks about testing without getting into any heavy-duty math or statistics. I really recommend it. |

Testing with no QA team in an agile development environment Have you considered creating a formal QA/test team? One that works along side/in parallel to the development team? |

Fundamental Requirements For an Entry Level QA Engineer Overall hint: searching public online job boards (Workopolis, Monster, etc) for entry level software positions can be a very frustrating experience, because 1) entry level jobs are the minority of jobs posted there and 2) public online job boards are the last resort for companies looking to hire. I would recommend looking elsewhere :) |
