Permanently up to my eyeballs trying to keep up with rapid application development and get automation running that isn't going to bite anyone after the next new feature development.

comment difference between installation testing and compatibility testing?
Hi, and welcome to the site. Have you googled the two concepts or searched existing questions? sqa.stackexchange.com/questions/1425/… is one question here that could help. There are many others. Perhaps you could update your question with more context - what you've looked for and why that information didn't help you.

comment How to test data migration procedure?
Hi Susanta, this isn't really an answer and doesn't help, particularly since the question has already had an answer accepted. It would probably serve better as a comment as @dzieciou suggested.

comment QA Methodology: Do you retest every change on a new build or only changed code?
I've done plenty without notes, where I figured it out from the path listing of the file... Needless to say I really liked working with the devs who put notes in

comment Where to start with introducing a testing framework
Voted up because it's - sadly - not rare for people in our community to get landed with this situation

comment How do you calculate the number of virtual concurrent users to use in a load test given data on actual site traffic?
Kiran, I'm not sure this is relevant to the question since it's asking about server load calculations for a webstore, the question is quite old, and an answer has been accepted.

comment How to implement Page Objects Pattern for an utter dynamic page
I'm using C# with visual studio and dealing with dynamic items myself, actually. The method I described in my answer is one that I use for dynamically generated items: as long as there's something unique I can use to get a handle on it - or a unique parent that can be used and then a combination of other properties - it doesn't matter what the language is.

comment What should be a ideal Bug Post?
Shantonu, you should look at sqa.stackexchange.com/questions/1920/… - it's a duplicate of your question and the answers cover everything you want.

comment Test Case Management Software
Hi, Shantonu, this answer is probably not all that helpful here, since the original question has already been answered. If there's a reason you feel RTH is a better solution than the marked answer, perhaps you could edit your answer to explain this?

comment Test Automation in Agile?
Mark - you might want to consider analysing customer-reported bugs against areas where regression is skimpy. I think you'll find enough of a correlation to justify dedicated regression suite management resources to your manager.

comment When I should write Test Case?
In my experience, it depends a lot on the nature of the project. Some projects I was writing test cases at a high level before coding started. Others coding was finished before I could start writing test cases.

comment manual tester wanting to get into automation
@JacobHong what I have looks like code. I use a switch structure that feeds each type of test automation action to its own routine with the test object and test data object passed in as parameters. Getting to the switch involves pulling information from the database and running through the recordsets.

comment Is unit and component testing sufficient?
Even if your code isn't doing anything special with the OS, you still need to test it with the OS - because changes to how the OS works can still disable your application. Vista broke many applications because of the changes to how Microsoft handled system security. Applications not doing anything special can still fail to handle network and/or database outages gracefully.

comment Any good test plan/cycles or experiences without using crowdsourcing?
So what the user sees as the same "app" is actually different source code depending on the operating system? (AppA.Windows, AppA.MacOsX, AppA.Linux, AppB.Windows and so on). If this is the case, you definitely want to be able to cross-link your test cases and nest your test suites.

comment Looking for growth in automation
Agree on sharpening the CV. Companies that don't support their testers are going to run into grief somewhere, and it's often not worth trying to convince them to change (speaking from unfortunate experience here).

Val, by "it" I mean the techniques in Beatty's article. Sorry for being unclear.

Actually, this is a little more detailed than the typical code review - not that this is a bad thing! It's more along the lines of detailed code analysis.
