A Senior Test Engineer at PayPoint.net, I specialise in delivering, and supporting all facets of the quality cycle, from directing agile development teams in methods of unit testing, through to supporting business acceptance and performing non-functional testing.

I have extensive experience in build automation, with the use of Jenkins, in a heavily modularised, clustered, service oriented environment, and delivering changes to product offerings in a real-time high-availability risk-adverse environment.

comment How do I test Aspects (AOP)?
Afraid not, we've written our own Java based librar(y|ies) that use aspects to wrap around some Spring calls to provide tracing across web service boundaries. I'm not sure of anything "off-the-shelf" that'd help with this other than some creative use of logging+aspects

Yeah that sounds reasonable. It might be worth adding some log events with request ID's and detailed timestamps in your profiles that can be used to support analysis after the fact.

comment Jenkins: How to restrict “SSH Remote Host” to specific users?
Not necessarily, it can either be setup to have a users username and password, or a keyfile with passphrase. The various input fields just let you setup the credentials in a few ways eg; Username+Password, Username + Path to key on jenkins master, Username + path + passphrase etc. If you'd like the most secure method, use the username, a path to key on the jenkins master and a passphrase. It prevents the private key being exposed through the config ui (though its probably still accessible in other ways)

The second option I've given below might work for you then. If your users login to machines using their own credentials, and other users configuration aren't visible, then you can use an alternative plugin to run the ssh calls and pass credentials at runtime rather than from global configuration in Jenkins.

I'm not sure you can. Might I ask why there needs to be this security layer when users are already logging in and configuring their own jobs

How do you visualise "trigger from an interface" working - Do you mean some sort of web interface, or would a simple command line operation be sufficient? Would this machine(s) be running on a local workstation or remote?

comment Selenium tests aren´t launched anymore
Which browser are you testing with, I had some problems when a remote FireFox node upgraded itself so each time Selenium started it had a dialog asking a "user" to check plugins updates. This blocked selenium running properly and caused all our tests to timeout.
