comment Flow Control in Selenium IDE
relies on a number of assumptions about your application that may change and break your tests; Hardcoded IDs, strict structure dependence, and poor abstraction between operation I disagree with this assertion. Hardcoding IDs is a poor practice not constrained to or demanded from Selenium IDE. Sure it's a primitive tool, but it does allow you to store an ID as a variable and reference that variable in subsequent locators. Strict structure dependency and poor abstraction also strike me as more PEBKAC style problems than problems with the Selenium IDE itself. edit:formatting

comment Automating web form testing across several sites
Do you know what the forms are supposed to do? You can automate the filling out of the forms, and that can inform you on a basic level on whether or not the form still submits. If the scope is just checking they submit, then record/playback is a great tool: Record on pre-migrated, play on post-migrated, and report results.

comment How to make clicking more robust in web testing?
I think what he means is that your tool is might be firing the click too soon after the page loads. Given that the element is heavily stylized with jquery I would agree with his hunch; I've seen it plenty of times myself. Are you able to insert a wait in between the page load and the click to verify if this is the case?
