Is unit and component testing sufficient? @ManRow - I've tested applications that had bugs in very similar areas. Under certain unusual circumstances, one application left behind corrupt data in a temp folder, then read it next time the system rebooted. The error was only apparent after "closing the app and rebooting the computer". Perhaps really good unit testing would have uncovered that, perhaps not. |

Difference between requirement, use case, and scenario? Good answer. I would emphasize the "ask them what they mean" point. Often SQA adds significant value to a project by trying to ensure everyone means the same thing. When we can get the Product Manager, Project Manager, Business Analysts, Developers and QAers all meaning the same thing - then we have a better chance to avoid some bugs before they are committed to code. That's always a good thing. |

Usability versus fail-fast dilemma It's hard to understand what you are asking for here. You are looking for a term which describes such a system? |

How to Check my pc is having internet connection using java Is this an SQA question? Or would it be better asked elsewhere? |

How to automatically break Unit Tests when their related Requirements change (before any code change) I don't know of anything magical. Wouldn't it depend on how (or how well) you write your unit tests? If your unit tests are detailed enough, any requirement change would "break" them, right? |

Looking for growth in automation You confused me when you said that you liked QTP, but the company won't pay. So, I assume Selenium won't cut it because it can't test the application that you want to test? Remember that you can use pretty much any tool to enhance your skills - you just might need to target some other application. |

Looking for growth in automation Selenium is the obvious choice here. Why won't Selenium "cut it"? |
