protractor Protractor - jasmine; howHow to click submit buttombutton

ourOur dev has a submit button like this:

<button _ngcontent-c6="" class="btn btn-block btn-primary mt-lg" type="submit">Login</button>

I tried using: element(by.buttonText('#submit'));

element(by.buttonText('#submit'));

but no luck with it.

Note: I'm new to protractor.
