I am working on android automation testing. I need to install some .apk files in an emulator. So I have a few questions like:

  1. Where should I get the .apk file?
  2. How do I install the .apk file?

  • I don't think the question is related in any way to SQA. This should be asked on Stack Overflow. Commented Sep 15, 2015 at 9:37

You can get apk using chrome plugin APK Downloader. To install apk use ADB command: adb install path_to_apk_file

Simplest way to install any app on emulator:

  • Drag and drop your .apk file on your emulator.
  • It will install and restart emulator itself

Your app will be ready to use !
