I am busy writing a server application and a client application. The server application is multithreaded, meaning that multiple client requests can be handled at the same time. However, some of the client requests need to be sequenced because they modify the same underlying data.
My scrum tester is now asking me what the best way is to test this environment. Are there any type of benchmarks (in the literature or from practical experience) that can be used? For example
- real time between sending user request and getting the answer
- CPU time spent by the server handling a bunch of client requests
- ...
Any ideas?
